Pharmacy Consultant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Intern Grad to join our team at Walgreens. As a Pharmacy Intern Grad, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring the efficient operation of the pharmacy, and supporting the pharmacy manager in various tasks.

• Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers, including counseling on medication usage, side effects, and interactions.
• Ensure the proper compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications within regulatory guidelines and company policies.
• Support the efficient workflow of the pharmacy and assist the pharmacy manager in identifying ways to optimize pharmacy financials, inventory management, and customer experience.
• Engage with customers and patients, resolving issues in a timely manner and providing a positive customer experience.
• Develop strong relationships with customers and healthcare providers, promoting the shift of the pharmacy role from transactional to interpersonal.
• Perform pharmacist tasks, including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations, company policies, and standards.
• Assist the pharmacy manager with establishing procedures that promote the efficient workflow of the pharmacy.
• Maintain current knowledge of information technology associated with pharmacy systems and propose enhancements to further promote productivity.
• Ensure the accurate processing of insurance claims and follow-up with insurance companies and medical providers.
• Perform retail, clinical, and wellness services, including immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness.
• Develop and maintain good relationships with local medical community and participate in community outreach activities.
• Partner with Central Pharmacy Operations for customer registration, 3rd party reviews, and resolving customer issues.
• Conduct virtual product reviews and reduce transactional tasks in virtual environments.
• Assist the Pharmacy Manager with staff hiring and training, reinforcing direction and providing constructive feedback.
• Promote teamwork and motivate team members by establishing expectations, monitoring progress, and fostering a shared vision.
• Maintain current knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare by reading pharmacy-related journals and pursuing best practices.
• Obtain necessary certifications, education credits, and training as required by the Company.
• Seek professional development by monitoring performance, soliciting constructive feedback, and leveraging pharmacy manager and store manager as mentor and coach.

• Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited educational institution prior to the start date in position.
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy in the states within the district within 90 days of hire per district guidelines.
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws.
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

The actual hourly salary within this range that you will be offered will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience and other relevant factors.
