Your Role:
The registered dietitian employs the nutrition care process to screen, assess, diagnose, provide nutrition interventions, and monitor the nutritional status and progress of patients. The dietitian adheres to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Standards of Practice in Nutrition Care and Standards of Professional Performance.

Your Contributions:
+ Uphold AdventHealth's service standards through your actions.
+ Assessment:

  • Conduct nutrition-focused physical assessments, gather measurements, review medical records, collect data through interviews, utilize validated tools, evaluate anthropometric status, and calculate estimated comparative standards.
+ Diagnosis:
  • Analyze assessment data to identify nutrition risks, problems, criteria consistent with malnutrition, knowledge deficits, and/or high-risk health behaviors.
+ Intervention:
  • Provide nutrition recommendations, orders, education/counseling, and/or referrals to other services.
+ Education and Counseling:
  • Deliver counseling and education that reflects appropriate health literacy and cultural sensitivity to patients with conditions requiring nutritional management.
Utilize evidence-based theories and concepts, including the transtheoretical model and motivational interviewing.

Qualifications for Success:
Minimum Requirements:
+ Active registered dietitian status with the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR).
+ Active licensed status in the state of practice.
+ Bachelor's degree in nutrition or a related field AND
3 years of clinical experience OR
+ Graduate degree in nutrition or a related field AND
1 year of clinical experience.
