Job Summary:

The Surgical Technologist and/or Certified Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the operating room, ensuring a smooth and efficient surgical experience for patients. This individual prepares the room and gathers necessary supplies, delivers instruments to the surgeon and other team members, and assists in the proper decontamination of the room and equipment post-operatively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the operating room and gather necessary supplies for surgical procedures
  • Deliver instruments to the surgeon and other team members intra-operatively
  • Function as a second assistant to the surgeon as needed
  • Assist in the proper decontamination of the room, supplies, and equipment post-operatively

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association
  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent military training, or 10+ years of experience as a Surgery Tech
  • Understanding of surgical procedures and ability to anticipate surgeon's needs
  • Strong clinical knowledge of the operating room environment
