Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a JEDI Student Leader. This part-time student position will play a vital role in supporting the Multicultural Student Services team in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion on campus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in staffing the Multicultural Center and supporting affinity program development
  • Engage in community building and education initiatives to promote belonging and inclusion among students with marginalized identities
  • Collaborate with the First-Year Experience team to support students with marginalized identities during orientation
  • Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills in diversity, equity, and inclusion
Requirements
  • Enrolled in the University of Alaska system with a minimum of six credit hours in the current semester of employment
  • Have a 2.0 cumulative grade point average (GPA) or approval from the MAU Senior Student Services officer
  • Provide evidence of enrollment to substantiate employment eligibility
Working Conditions

This is a part-time, up to 20 hours a week, student position paying $13.55 per hour. JEDI Leaders work 10-20 hours per week while school is in session, and may work up to 40 hours per week during the summer. Continuation of employment must be a mutual decision between student and supervisors before the start of each term.

Training and Development

JEDI Leaders are required to participate in training sessions, including MSS and Pride Center staff training, Orientation Leader training, and other diversity, equity, and inclusion training sessions.
