Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Firefighter Paramedic to join our team. As a Firefighter Paramedic, you will be responsible for responding to emergency calls, providing medical care, and participating in fire suppression activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide medical care to patients
  • Participate in fire suppression activities, including hose line operations and rescue operations
  • Perform emergency medical services, including triage, EKG interpretation, and drug therapy
  • Direct or provide advanced life support care on emergency scenes
  • Meet National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards for health and fitness
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Paramedic license or National Registry certification as a Paramedic
  • Current, valid driver's license and a driving record insurable by the District's insurer
  • Must meet National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards for health and fitness
Working Conditions

Work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with unpredictable emergency requirements. Must be able to work in extreme physical conditions, including climbing ladders, operating from heights, and walking or crawling in the dark.

Compensation

As of July 1, 2024, the starting monthly salary range within a step system for this position is $6, $8,771.52 per month.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this position, applicants must pass the FireTEAM test and the video interview, and successfully complete the CPAT. The CPAT dates we will accept have been updated to March 23, 2023 through September 22, 2024. A CPAT will be accepted from any organization authorized and licensed by the IAFF and IAFC.
