With a total of 7 private rooms and 3 triage beds, we are equipped with a whirlpool and a dedicated C-section suite. Our unit handles an average of 300 deliveries and over 500 triages annually. Our nursing staff is certified in essential areas such as fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, and infant care. We pride ourselves on our robust midwifery program and our capability to manage emergencies and high-risk deliveries effectively. Our team benefits from 24-hour newborn coverage provided by nurse practitioners from a renowned children's hospital, along with access to certified lactation consultants.

Scope of Responsibilities
The Registered Nurse will deliver nursing care with accountability and responsibility, adhering to the standards set forth by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the legal requirements of the State of Michigan. This role requires the application of critical thinking through the nursing process, which encompasses assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The nurse will uphold professional performance standards, including ethical practice, culturally sensitive care, effective communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality assurance, and resource management.

Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing is required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is required within five years of hire.
- Must possess a valid Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of hire.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is required within 180 days of hire.
- Fetal Heart Monitoring Certification is required within two years of hire.
Work Environment
This position is part-time with variable shifts, requiring flexibility in scheduling. The role involves working both day and night shifts, contributing to a total of 52 hours in a six-week schedule.
