About the Role:

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - GU/GI Oncology will be responsible for the application of the nursing process, supervision of clinical practice, research involvement, consultative services, inter and intradepartmental liaison, education, leadership, and patient care management across the health care continuum from preventative, acute care through discharge.

This role will incorporate both independent decision-making abilities and collaboration with the board certified/eligible physician to provide expert care to the patients.

The successful candidate will be responsible to the medical director and the chief nursing officer (CNO) and functions as an integral part of the medical team.

The Nurse Practitioner will practice under the Board of Registered Nursing California code of regulations, Title 16, Article 8, Section , utilizing the Nurse Practitioner Standardized Procedures.

These procedures are developed in a collaborative effort within the area of specialty, department of Nursing and the Hospital Administration, incorporating CSHS goals and represent an interdisciplinary approach to patient care delivery.

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse will provide individualized care upholding CSHS philosophies including but not limited to care consistent with Nursing Standards of Care/Practice, the Plan for Provision of Nursing Care, the Plan for Provision of Patient Care, the Performance Improvement Plan, the Patient Education Plan, the Professional Organization Standards, Code of Conduct, and hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will perform all job duties with sensitivity and attention to age and developmental milestones of the population(s) served which may include neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.

The candidate will identify the ability of the age specific population served to follow direction/instructions and give consent.

The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse will identify safety concerns and institute measures to provide a safe environment and provide appropriate assessment, intervention, and evaluation of patients with consideration of developmental milestones in the population served.

Requirements:

  • One (1) plus years' experience as Oncology Nurse Practitioner (preferred).
  • Three (3) plus years of nursing experience, preferably in Oncology.
  • GU/GI Oncology experience strongly preferred.

Education/Licensure/Certifications:

  • Master of Nursing Degree
  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered
  • Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License
  • National Certification as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Current DEA license and Furnishing Number
  • Current ACLS certification
