As a Staff Auditor at Castro & Company, you will be responsible for executing various tasks for Federal Government Agencies. Your primary objectives will include:
- Client Interaction: Engage with key client management to gather information, resolve audit-related problems, and provide recommendations for business and process improvements.
- Financial Process Documentation: Develop a comprehensive understanding of client financial and operational processes.
- Audit Analysis and Recommendations: Use audit results and analysis to develop recommendations in accordance with Federal Accounting Standards for improving compliance, effectiveness, efficiency, and accountability.
- Financial Statement Testing: Perform testing of financial statements, accounting reports, and internal controls.
- Data Compilation and Analysis: Compile and analyze data to support audit findings.
- Accounting Research: Conduct research on accounting issues to ensure compliance with Federal Accounting Standards.
- Business Process Documentation: Document business processes to ensure understanding and compliance.
- Communication of Audit Matters: Identify and communicate auditing matters to senior associates and managers.
To succeed in this role, you must possess the following essential qualities:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting: A degree in accounting is required for this position.
- Ability to Obtain Federal Security Clearance: You must be able to obtain a Federal Security Clearance to perform the duties of this role.
- Open to Travel: Travel may be required for this position.
