POSITION SUMMARY:

At Fastenal, we are seeking motivated and team-oriented individuals to join our distribution center in a part-time capacity. As a Receiving Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the flow of products within our warehouse environment.

Upon the arrival of inventory, your responsibilities will include verifying the accuracy of products and quantities received. You will also prepare items for transfer to subsequent departments, ensuring efficient product handling. Fastenal is dedicated to maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible workplace, integrating EHS & Sustainability considerations into our operations.

This entry-level role is based at our distribution center and may offer flexible scheduling following a successful onboarding and training period.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary duties of this position encompass, but are not limited to:
o Utilizing computer systems, RF scanners, and printers for product labeling
o Unloading incoming shipments
o Verifying orders for shipment accuracy and addressing any discrepancies
o Conducting quality inspections on received products
o Weighing products as necessary
o Ensuring cleanliness and organization of the workspace
o Adhering to health, safety, and sustainability protocols
o Engaging in initiatives that support the company's health, safety, and sustainability goals
o Completing various environmental health and safety training programs

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

o Strong written and verbal communication abilities
o Proficient in computer operations
o Highly motivated, self-driven, and customer-focused
o Excellent mathematical skills, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency
o Ability to learn and execute multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
o Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
o Flexibility to work varied hours as needed
o Commitment to embodying our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity, and teamwork
o Physical ability to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages weighing between 25lbs-50lbs, with some items potentially reaching up to 100lbs
o Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening and background check, as required by client contracts

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
o Previous experience operating a forklift.
