Molding Process Engineer
As a Molding Process Engineer, you will spearhead initiatives aimed at enhancing safety, cost efficiency, quality, delivery, and the overall effectiveness of manufacturing operations to align with strategic objectives.
Your role will involve the daily oversight of the molding process area, utilizing performance metrics to drive production efficiency, achieve targets, and implement continuous improvement measures.
You will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and application of lean manufacturing methodologies throughout the production workflow, focusing on equipment design, selection, layout optimization, and material flow management.
Fostering a collaborative team environment is essential, as you will actively contribute to the manufacturing team's success.
Your responsibilities will include managing the technical aspects of molding processes to ensure they operate under controlled conditions while adhering to safety protocols.
Additionally, you will train team members on proper procedures for start-up, shutdown, purging, and troubleshooting, ensuring compliance with established practices.
Support for Continuous Improvement initiatives will be crucial, as you will propose long-term processing solutions aimed at reducing costs through improved scrap rates and enhanced efficiency.
It is vital to ensure that all processes adhere to baseline standards, with any modifications thoroughly evaluated and documented using the appropriate change management forms.
Collaboration with the Operations team will be necessary to identify key focus areas for processing enhancements.
You will also interact with the Quality Assurance team to establish acceptable quality standards for parts produced.
Your role will involve improving equipment and processes to meet or exceed current and future production capacity requirements.
Monitoring and updating the preventative maintenance program will be part of your responsibilities.
Actively seeking opportunities to reduce costs and cycle times will be a key focus.
Lastly, you will create and maintain manufacturing documentation and quality plans in accordance with company standards, including work instructions, control plans, and PFMEA.
Planning and executing capital equipment acquisitions and installations will also be part of your duties, encompassing initial justification, quotation, approval processes, pre-acceptance, final acceptance, and launch management.
