Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients' overall health, with a focus on cardiovascular function and metabolism.
  • Develop personalized exercise prescriptions to increase physical fitness, strength, endurance, and flexibility.
  • Design customized exercise programs to meet patients' health care needs and athletic performance goals.
  • Administer exercise prescriptions to improve mobility and flexibility, hasten recovery from injury, and help patients live with disabilities.
  • Advise patients on nutrition and ongoing exercise regimens, and may teach classes and conduct research.
  • Provide quality, personalized, and evidence-based care and proven interventions.
  • Evaluate results of exercise programs by observing, noting, and evaluating patients' progress, and recommending and implementing adjustments and modifications.
  • Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Lead Responsibilities (If Classified in a Lead Role)
  • Assist in quality control and performance improvement activities.
  • Contribute to performance feedback and hiring decisions.
  • Ensure standards are met (quality, timeliness, customer service, etc.).
  • Evaluate and test new procedures and processes.
  • Orient and/or train new staff.
  • Problem-solving capabilities.
  • Subject matter expert/technical leadership.
  • Work flow/distribution of work.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with all regulatory and other agency requirements, laws, and statutes pertaining to the operation of the department.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist or Registered RN.
  • BLS certified within 30 days of hire.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
