Responsibilities

James F. Butler & Associates, the legal counsel for State Farm Insurance Companies, is seeking litigation attorneys to join our Claim Litigation office. Selected candidates will be part of our trial team and will manage a substantial caseload from the discovery phase through to trial. Ideal candidates will exhibit a profound understanding of civil procedure, evidence, and trial protocols. The successful applicant will demonstrate exceptional research skills, strong written and oral advocacy, and possess excellent organizational abilities to independently handle a demanding and time-sensitive caseload. This role is classified as hybrid, requiring a mix of in-office and remote work. While the initial location will be designated, future arrangements may evolve based on business requirements.

Qualifications
  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school with outstanding academic credentials
  • Active license to practice law in New York and good standing with the New York State Bar
  • 1-10 years of experience in insurance defense litigation and trial
  • Experience in a paperless work environment
  • Ability to oversee support staff on administrative tasks related to litigation
  • Strong technological skills for managing lawsuits and courtroom presentations
  • Eligibility to work lawfully in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Potential salary range: $125,625.00-$176,000.00
  • Potential annual incentive pay up to 16% of base salary (results may vary)
