Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesiologist to join our team at VCU Health CHOR. As a key member of our Department of Anesthesiology, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional anesthetic and critical care to our pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide preanesthetic evaluation, intraoperative anesthetic care, postoperative rounds, resuscitation, and intensive care to patients as assigned by the Department Chair or delegate.
  • Direct the activities of nurse anesthetists as assigned by the Chair or delegate.
  • Teach and mentor residents, medical students, student nurse anesthetists, and others in a clinical setting.
  • Pursue clinical or laboratory research and other scholarly interests independently, within the guidelines of the Institution and Department.
  • Participate in clinical trials depending on interest and area of specialization.
  • Contribute to departmental, School of Medicine, University, or VCU Health System committees as requested by the Chair or determined via individual interest.
Requirements
  • MD or DO degree
  • ABA Board eligible/certified in Anesthesiology and/or certified/eligible for Critical Care Certification
  • Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia
  • Eligible for employment in the United States
  • Good communication, clinical, and teaching skills
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
