We are seeking a highly skilled Anesthesiologist to join our team at VCU Health CHOR. As a key member of our Department of Anesthesiology, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional anesthetic and critical care to our pediatric patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide preanesthetic evaluation, intraoperative anesthetic care, postoperative rounds, resuscitation, and intensive care to patients as assigned by the Department Chair or delegate.
- Direct the activities of nurse anesthetists as assigned by the Chair or delegate.
- Teach and mentor residents, medical students, student nurse anesthetists, and others in a clinical setting.
- Pursue clinical or laboratory research and other scholarly interests independently, within the guidelines of the Institution and Department.
- Participate in clinical trials depending on interest and area of specialization.
- Contribute to departmental, School of Medicine, University, or VCU Health System committees as requested by the Chair or determined via individual interest.
- MD or DO degree
- ABA Board eligible/certified in Anesthesiology and/or certified/eligible for Critical Care Certification
- Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia
- Eligible for employment in the United States
- Good communication, clinical, and teaching skills
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU
