Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with surgeons, registered nurses, and surgical teams to prepare the operating room and ensure all instruments and tools are sterilized.
- Assist in preparing patients for surgical procedures, including pre-operative shaving, disinfecting incision sites, and proper draping.
- Support surgeons by managing equipment and handling specimens for laboratory analysis, while also monitoring patients under anesthesia.
- Utilize expertise to anticipate the needs of the surgical team, demonstrating attention to detail and the ability to perform under pressure.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program or vocational training.
- A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in surgical technology is preferred.
- Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) is preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
