Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Neurodiagnostic Technician to perform a variety of neurophysiological assessments. This role involves working under general supervision, adhering to established protocols, and exercising sound judgment in specific situations while testing patients across all age groups.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine and emergency testing in the EEG laboratory as well as portable procedures at the bedside, including EEG, brainstem auditory evoked potentials, visual evoked potentials, and long-term monitoring for epilepsy.
  • Accurately measure and place electrodes following standard protocols, applying specialized electrodes and arranging montages as necessary.
  • Monitor patients during procedures, documenting any unusual behaviors or occurrences.
  • Effectively communicate the testing process and its purpose to patients and their families.
  • Prioritize testing schedules in collaboration with epileptologists.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure optimal functionality, making minor repairs as needed.
  • Assist with general maintenance and act as a liaison with biomedical engineering and vendors.
  • Participate in the training and orientation of new staff, identifying educational needs in collaboration with management.
  • Work with neurology offices and scheduling teams to optimize outpatient testing schedules.
  • Ensure proper management of EEG records and server storage.
  • Accurately complete billing for all studies and ensure proper assignment of interpretations to physicians.
  • Assist in supply ordering and review equipment requirements.
  • Contribute to data collection and reporting for performance enhancement initiatives, monitoring study quality and addressing issues as necessary.
  • Serve as a point of contact for technical inquiries related to EEG procedures.
  • Engage in the development of neurophysiology programs, including policy creation and periodic reviews.
  • Facilitate onboarding for new physicians regarding software access and maintain communication with departmental managers to ensure efficient study completion.
  • Collaborate with IT staff to optimize server storage usage.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduation from an accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology program preferred.
  • Registered EEG Technologist (ABRET) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience; clinical hours may be considered.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.
