Position Summary:

The Chemical Production Specialist will oversee all chemical manufacturing operations, ensuring compliance with established quality systems. Responsibilities include packaging and shipping products while maintaining processes in a validated or compliant state.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow written batch records meticulously.
  • Operate powered industrial vehicles to transport products as necessary.
  • Utilize laboratory equipment to assess product moisture levels.
  • Maintain cleanliness of reactors, filters, and other equipment, as well as general work areas.
  • Document all relevant steps on batch records and associated documentation.
  • Understand and adhere to quality regulations pertinent to job duties.
  • Practice good housekeeping and safety protocols.
  • Familiarize with and operate various process pumps.
  • Notify supervisors regarding the need for component orders.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues based on operator level.
  • Handle product transfer and weighing tasks accurately.
  • Monitor in-process batches for critical parameters and document findings as per SOP.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting production procedures.
  • Must possess strong English language skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be capable of lifting and carrying weights between 20 to 80 lbs. multiple times during a shift.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and climbing may be required.
  • Use of computers and keyboards throughout the shift is necessary.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Work in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels.

Work Schedule:

  • This is a non-exempt position.
  • Shifts will follow a 12-hour alternating schedule.
  • Willingness to work across all BioSpectra facilities may be required.
