The Senior Underwriter - Accident and Health will play a pivotal role in shaping the underwriting strategy for Accident & Health (A&H) insurance. This position is designed for a professional who can foster business growth through strategic relationship building and sound underwriting practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and price moderately complex insurance applications, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Negotiate terms and conditions for both new and existing business, while managing the production and issuance of contract documentation.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to loss ratio targets and profitability goals.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with agents and clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored insurance solutions.
- Collaborate with the Risk Management Team for medical reviews and work closely with Policy Administration and Claims Departments as needed.
- Contribute to a positive workplace culture by promoting values such as accountability, diversity, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant underwriting experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make informed underwriting decisions.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to manage relationships effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with insurance industry practices.
