Physician (Chief - Emergency Medicine) - Leadership Position

This is a leadership position for a Chief Physician in the Emergency Medicine Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the clinical and administrative functions of the Emergency Department, including overseeing staff physicians and NP/PA/ICT patient care performance measures, compliance, training, and performance improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in and oversee staff physicians and NP/PA/ICT patient care performance measures, compliance, training, and performance improvement.
- Recruit and retain highly qualified and experienced providers.
- Participate in various Medical Center committees to ensure performance measures are met, compliance with applicable rules and regulations, and participation in system redesign activities.
- Serve as a liaison between the Emergency Medicine Section and other VA specialty sections, as well as the Emory Department of Emergency Medicine and Emergency Medicine Residency Training programs.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must have a degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Must have a current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
- Must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
- Board certification in Emergency Medicine.
- Experience in leadership roles, particularly in clinical and administrative settings.
