Youth Program Mentor

About the Role

As a Youth Program Mentor at the Greater Philadelphia YMCA, you will play a vital role in supporting and guiding students in our programs. Under general direction, you will provide encouragement and motivation to participants while ensuring their safety, cleanliness, and adherence to YMCA standards and rules.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality program instruction according to YMCA standards, incorporating character development objectives to reinforce YMCA values.
• Maintain progressive or competitive standards and quality, ensuring participant engagement and a clean facility.
• Provide a safe and enjoyable learning environment for students.
• Evaluate program skills, complete progress reports, and communicate effectively with parents.
• Offer excellent customer service, communicate YMCA rules, and be approachable and accessible.
• Participate as part of the staff team in maintaining a safe environment, respecting others, and attending staff meetings and trainings.
• Take attendance and perform other related duties.

Requirements

• Minimum age 16.
• Excellent knowledge of instructing in the program area.
• Ability to maintain focus and attention during activities.
