About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Piping Designer to join our team at Hargrove Engineers & Constructors. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and specifying piping systems for industrial projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and specify piping systems, including pipe standards, manual valves, and inline piping equipment
  • Modify, update, and maintain P&IDs based on client specifications and vendor data
  • Create, review, and check design packages, including scopes of work, P&IDs, general arrangements, line lists, isometrics, pipe supports, and installation details
  • Assist in conducting piping and mechanical reviews of all project packages prior to IFC to ensure quality procedures are followed
  • Review project design estimates and scopes of work for new and proposed projects
  • Perform necessary field work, taking measurements, locating tie-ins, as-building existing systems, and developing detailed scopes
  • Ensure that completed project scope is safe to operate, functional, maintainable, and that all applicable codes have been followed
Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy industrial industry
  • Required proficiency with CAD software platforms, preferably MicroStation and E3D
  • Required working knowledge of piping standards, pipe materials of construction, pipe components, and manual valves
  • Required working knowledge of pipe fabrication means and methods
  • Experience in communicating job packages/projects with construction and plant personnel
  • Experience utilizing vendor equipment specifications and reading vendor manuals
  • Experience in developing scopes of work, task analysis, material lists, and project schedules
