Job Description

Summary

The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District is seeking a highly qualified Part-Time Instructor to teach Medical Coding and Billing courses. As a member of our faculty team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, evaluating student performance, and contributing to the development of curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Medical Coding and Billing courses, including lectures, discussions, and hands-on training
  • Evaluate student performance and provide feedback
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students and the industry
  • Stay current with industry developments and best practices in Medical Coding and Billing
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives to improve student success and retention

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in any subject and two years of experience in Office Technology, or
  • Associate degree in any subject and six years of experience in Office Technology, or
  • The equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in teaching Medical Coding and Billing courses
  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD-9-CM coding systems
  • Experience with medical coding software systems, such as Medisoft

Working Conditions

Faculty positions may require long periods of standing and walking in a typical classroom setting. Specific conditions may vary by subjects taught.
