About the Role

The Schenectady City School District is seeking a highly skilled School Psychologist to join our team. As a key member of our Pupil Services Division, you will work closely with teachers, parents, and school leaders to develop and implement plans to improve students' academic performance and social-emotional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Intervention: Administer psychological and educational assessments, and design and evaluate programs to intervene with children's academic, behavioral, and emotional problems.
  • Consultative Skills: Work with teachers, staff, and students to develop behavior plans and provide assessment and intervention solutions as part of the school-based support team.
  • Culturally Responsive Practice: Demonstrate knowledge of culturally diverse children, parents, teachers, and school personnel, and use a culturally responsive approach to develop relationships and execute interventions with fidelity.
  • Special Education Regulations: Demonstrate knowledge of special education regulations, processes, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Doctorate in School Psychology preferred; NYS certification as a School Psychologist is required.
  • Experience: Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university; CSE experience preferred; experience working in schools and with children preferred.
