Responsibilities of the Tax Manager:
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of federal and multi-state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts, along with their associated tax work papers.
- Enhance technical expertise by staying informed on industry trends, developments, and authoritative guidelines, applying this knowledge to client scenarios.
- Collaborate closely with clients to provide guidance on income tax matters and strategic tax planning.
- Establish and nurture robust client relationships.
- Ensure adherence to engagement timelines and budgetary constraints.
- Oversee the planning and scheduling of client engagements.
- Deliver timely updates on job status to upper management and client representatives.
- Supervise engagement teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work products to clients.
- Research and analyze complex tax issues.
- Mentor and provide constructive feedback to senior and junior staff members.
- Facilitate training for junior team members to enhance their technical capabilities.
- Participate in recruitment activities and contribute to firm initiatives as necessary.
Qualifications for Success:
- 5-8 years of relevant experience.
- Preferred experience with partnerships and/or high net worth individuals.
- Must hold a valid CPA license or be an Enrolled Agent.
- Strong technical and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to influence and resolve operational challenges.
- Able to learn, teach, and supervise in a dynamic environment while being open to feedback and coaching.
- Proficient in managing multiple tasks, prioritizing responsibilities, and taking initiative on projects.
- Detail-oriented with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Proficiency in Thomson Reuters, GoSystem, ProSystems, or equivalent software is required.
