Position Overview:

Are you passionate about empowering individuals and enhancing community welfare? The State of Nebraska's Department of Health and Human Services is on the lookout for a dedicated Employment Services Coordinator to join our team within the Division of Children and Family Services.

This role is pivotal in collaborating with local Department of Labor initiatives to support clients in achieving self-sufficiency.

Your Responsibilities:

As an Employment Services Coordinator, you will:

  • Engage with the SNAP Next Step Employment and Training (E&T) program, fostering partnerships with the Nebraska Department of Labor.
  • Conduct face-to-face and telephonic interactions with clients from diverse socio-economic backgrounds, collecting essential financial and demographic data.
  • Facilitate access to local Department of Labor resources to aid clients in their journey towards self-sufficiency.
  • Perform community outreach and establish connections with clients.
  • Utilize computer databases to maintain, document, and verify client information, ensuring accurate processing of assigned tasks and correspondence.
  • Travel to various outreach locations as required, covering Beatrice and surrounding areas.

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Business Casual

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements: Completion of post-secondary coursework or training in social/behavioral sciences, counseling, business, public administration, education, marketing, or a related discipline; or relevant experience in client development and case management, including interviewing and direct customer service.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with SNAP programs within the last three years is highly desirable.

Additional Requirements: A valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent transportation.

Skills and Competencies:

Proficiency in database management, telephone-based customer service, and case management is essential. Candidates should possess strong data entry skills, effective communication abilities, and a customer-focused mindset. The ability to multitask and navigate various computer systems is crucial, along with good time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
