Job Summary:We are seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to join our team in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care to our patients, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary healthcare team. This is a full-time position, working 36 hours per week, with opportunities for professional growth and development.
Responsibilities:- Provide full-scope midwifery care to patients, including routine office well gynecologic care, management of minor gynecologic issues, antepartum/intrapartum/postpartum care, and immediate care of the newborn.
- Work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary healthcare team, including OB/GYNs, Midwives, NPs, RNs, social workers, and medical assistants.
- Assess and manage patients with essentially normal labor and spontaneous vaginal deliveries.
- Precept and teach Midwifery students, Physician Residents, and participate in postpartum rounds.
- Collaborate with our healthcare team to make diagnoses, manage diagnostic tests, and formulate plans of care.
- Document patient progress and outcomes in a timely and accurate manner.
- Current certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) or Certified Midwife (CM).
- One year of full-scope, in-hospital midwifery practice experience preferred.
- Two years of midwifery experience with previous nursing experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
