Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Communications Security (COMSEC) Responsible Officer (CRO) and Secure Voice Responsible Officer (SVRO), acting as the primary point of contact for all COMSEC-related matters.
  • Adhere to COMSEC protocols as outlined in relevant military manuals and directives, ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • Conduct training sessions for personnel managing COMSEC materials and equipment, enhancing their understanding of security responsibilities.
  • Maintain accurate records of all COMSEC equipment on the Custodian Inventory Report, ensuring accountability.
  • Assist in the management of the installation's COMSEC program, collaborating with the COMSEC Manager.
  • Issue COMSEC materials only to authorized personnel, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding sensitive information.
  • Implement a comprehensive training program for all CROs and their alternates.
  • Support the base's Cryptographic Access Program (CAP) and utilize the Cryptographic Management System (CMS) for effective management.
  • Ensure the COMSEC account meets minimum material requirements and properly disposes of items according to established schedules.
  • Prepare and submit necessary accounting reports to the appropriate authorities.
  • Facilitate the requisition of new or additional COMSEC and secure voice devices as needed.
  • Conduct semi-annual assessments of the COMSEC account and maintain documentation as required.
  • Manage hand receipt records for all COMSEC materials issued.
  • Ensure secure packaging and transportation of COMSEC materials, inspecting all received packages for tampering.
  • Report any COMSEC incidents in accordance with established guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of COMSEC accountability and procedures for issuing and receiving COMSEC equipment.
  • Familiarity with COMSEC requirements, including acquisition, maintenance, and disposition of equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CompTIA Security+ certification.

Security Clearance:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance is required.

Compensation:

Salary ranges from $52,125 to $105,120, based on experience and qualifications. By Light Professional IT Services offers a comprehensive benefits package and considers various factors when determining compensation.
