A reputable consulting engineering firm is looking for a qualified mid-level professional to join our expanding environmental and hazardous materials team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct investigations and sampling of asbestos and other hazardous materials, and prepare detailed investigation reports.
Support the Project Manager in overseeing asbestos abatement projects and quality control visits.
Assist in the creation and/or evaluation of abatement and remediation plans and specifications. Must be able to interpret architectural and mechanical drawings.
Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.
Flexibility to work both in an office setting and in the field.
Willingness to wear personal protective equipment when necessary.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Mandatory:
Current NYC DEP Asbestos Investigator license and NYS Asbestos Inspector certification.
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Asbestos Inspections/Investigations, with a solid understanding of relevant regulations for New York State and New York City.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer applications.
Strong writing and communication abilities.
OSHA 10-hour and OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certifications.
Additional certifications such as NYSDOL Project Monitor, Designer, Mold Assessor, and EPA Lead Inspector are advantageous.
Familiarity with CAD software is a plus.
COMPENSATION:
The salary range for this role is between $85,000 and $105,000.
