District Engineer

Glenbard Township High School District 87 is seeking a qualified candidate to perform specialized electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and new installation tasks to meet the needs of students, staff, and the general public.

• Maintain the knowledge, skills, and physical ability necessary to perform electrical maintenance tasks, including but not limited to electrical installations, preventive maintenance, control wiring, low voltage networks, scoreboards, all lighting and power systems, and single and three phase electrical control and distribution systems.
• Maintain the knowledge, skills, and physical ability necessary to evaluate and prioritize job assignments, material and time requirements, personnel needs, and special equipment necessary to complete assignments.
• Maintain the knowledge, skills, and physical ability necessary to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and schematics to perform electrical troubleshooting, and installations from this information.
• Maintain the knowledge, skills, and physical ability necessary to make purchase and to maintain records, inventory, and supplies.
• Maintain the knowledge, skills, and physical ability necessary for the use and performance of Operations technologies.

• Must be a licensed Electrician
• Must be able to communicate effectively and appropriately, as well as exhibit patience and understanding with students, staff, and the general public.
• Must be able to use prescribed safety and personal protective equipment.
• Must have an appropriate and valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
• Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and physical ability necessary for specialized electrical tasks including but not limited to diagramming circuits, reading and understanding blueprints, ladder and schematic drawings, troubleshooting electrical control and distribution systems, performing installations, and complying with appropriate required codes.
