Job Overview

As a Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will play a vital role in assisting pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting pharmacists in the performance of pharmacy duties, processing prescriptions, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in the performance of pharmacy duties, including the preparation and dispensing of medications, and the maintenance of accurate records.
  • Process prescriptions, including retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, and verifying medicine is correct.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, engaging with customers and patients, and resolving any issues or concerns they may have.
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals.
  • Participate in the Quality Improvement Program, reporting any prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty, and adhering to Company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer good math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
  • Prefer good computer skills.
  • Prefer the knowledge of store inventory control.
  • Prefer PTCB or ExCPT certification.

Training & Development

  • Earns and maintains PTCB or ExCPT certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration.
  • Attends training and completes PPLs requested by Manager and acquires continuing education credits.
