Position Overview


Oversee and direct all facets of safety, efficiency, and precision in the layout of project components as necessary for the success of the initiative.

Ensure accurate layout and quality assessments according to the most recent project specifications and blueprints.

Organize and coordinate the activities of craft personnel under his/her leadership, inspiring them to complete tasks safely, accurately, and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capable of executing all essential tasks of craft personnel under his/her leadership, ensuring that surveyors possess the qualifications to perform their duties and providing on-the-job training as necessary.
  • Conduct task planning, instruct on safety protocols, policies, and procedures to safely and effectively manage all assigned work.
  • Facilitate toolbox discussions and relay safety issues, work scope, plans, and schedules to teams while reviewing crew timecards for accuracy in hours and phase coding.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse, procurement, and supervisors to guarantee that a sufficient supply of tools, materials, and equipment is available.
  • Track and report on the volume of work completed on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of craft personnel.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent may be required, along with several years of experience in the field or a related area.
  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge and skill to perform all essential functions of craft personnel under his/her leadership.
  • Ability to conduct task planning to safely and effectively manage all aspects of assigned work, instructing on safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with scheduling, material management, unit manhour performance, estimating principles, and job cost management systems.
  • Ability to comprehend, follow, and convey written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively with craft personnel and management.
  • Must be an effective communicator, motivator, and team collaborator.

Requirements

The individual in this role must consistently navigate a construction or industrial site,
thus should be capable of standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling

  • Regularly works in a construction environment and will face varying outdoor
weather conditions

  • May work irregular hours, including weekends, overtime, and holidays as necessary
  • May need to utilize ladders, mechanical platforms, manlifts, or scaffolding to access
required equipment or work areas (potentially exceeding 200 feet), necessitating the ability to climb and
maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds

  • Must be able to operate in and around confined and cluttered spaces, and on uneven surfaces
  • Must be capable of completing tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
  • May be required to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across
construction or industrial sites

  • Must possess necessary tools
  • A U.S. Driver License may be required
  • Adhere to all safety and project regulations, performing additional duties as needed
  • Must pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, and fit-for-duty medical evaluations
