Role Overview:
As a Safety and Security Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting Harvard Protection Services in delivering exceptional security and life safety solutions. You will be tasked with providing professional, customer-oriented security services to safeguard both people and property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Exhibit a professional demeanor while assisting customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
  • Maintain a visible presence within the assigned facility.
  • Monitor surroundings to identify suspicious or unsafe activities.
  • Become acquainted with the flow of traffic and the individuals within the premises.
  • Welcome customers and visitors in a courteous manner.
  • Answer incoming calls professionally.
  • Authorize entry for permitted individuals and oversee access points.
  • Understand and enforce facility policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle.
  • Observe personnel exiting to prevent theft and ensure compliance with removal policies.
  • Adhere to established emergency procedures.
  • Monitor security systems and alarms.
  • Document incidents, accidents, and suspicious activities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Active SORA certification.
  • Reliable communication and transportation methods.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a professional appearance.
  • Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and incident reports.
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military, or customer service is advantageous.
