Spanish Professor

Tacoma Community College is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Spanish Professor to join our team. As a Spanish Professor, you will be responsible for teaching and developing courses in Spanish language and culture, as well as contributing to the growth and development of our World Languages department.

• Teach and assess student learning in assigned courses, including Spanish language and culture classes
• Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with department and college standards
• Maintain current knowledge in the field of teaching world languages and effective pedagogy
• Assess student learning and use data to improve teaching and learning
• Perform related duties as assigned

• Master's degree in Spanish language/culture, teaching, linguistics, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university
• Fluency in Spanish
• Experience teaching at a community college and/or the freshman & sophomore levels

• Commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, colleagues, and staff from diverse backgrounds
• Commitment to closing opportunity gaps and increasing representation of and graduation rates for historically underserved groups
