Overview

As a Histotechnician, you will play a vital role in our laboratory team, performing routine histological procedures and adhering to patient identification, lab safety, and other Mercy Lab and department policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Perform computer functions, process patient specimens, and maintain department inventory
  • Operate and maintain equipment, and perform record-keeping tasks and QI functions
  • Develop standard operating procedures in the department
  • Perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Associate's degree or 5 years of experience in a histology lab performing histotechnician duties
  • Preferred: HT(ASCP) certification or obtained within 18 months of hire date
