The Q Center is seeking a dedicated Overnight Kitchen Steward to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation within our facilities.

Position Summary

The Kitchen Steward plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and proper storage of all dining ware, including china, glass, and silver. This position is essential in supporting the kitchen staff by keeping all areas, including equipment and utensils, clean and organized.

Work Schedule

This role requires working from 8 PM to 4:30 AM, with varying days throughout the week, including weekends.

Compensation

The starting pay for this position is $15 per hour, with an additional $1 per hour shift differential.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, along with experience in hospitality or a related field.
  • Food Handler certification or equivalent is required.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work flexible and extended hours as needed.
  • Medium work - capable of exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently.
  • Must be able to stand for the entire shift and endure temperature variations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Exhibit attentiveness, friendliness, and courtesy towards guests and colleagues.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in all kitchen areas, including back docks and utility spaces.
  • Perform thorough cleaning of kitchen equipment, including ovens, grills, and sinks.
  • Ensure a sanitary environment through proper handling and storage of food items.
  • Utilize chemicals safely for sanitation, adhering to Safety Data Sheet guidelines.
  • Operate dishwashing equipment to maintain cleanliness of all dining ware.
  • Return cleaned items to their designated storage locations carefully.
  • Dispose of waste from food and beverage areas appropriately.
  • Understand the operation of fire safety equipment.
  • Follow safety protocols to prevent injury.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of dining areas as required.
  • Support banquet services by providing necessary dining ware as needed.
  • Report maintenance issues regarding kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain a 'Clean As You Go' policy to ensure ongoing cleanliness.
