Recreation Leader Job Description

At the City of Huntsville, we are seeking a highly motivated and organized Recreation Leader to join our Parks and Recreation team. As a Recreation Leader, you will be responsible for organizing, leading, and instructing recreation and sporting activities at our recreation facilities or community centers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and lead a variety of recreation and sports activities for diverse age groups
  • Set up equipment and facilities for sports, recreation, and special events
  • Instruct participants and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience
  • Use tact and skill in dealing with patrons and maintaining order and discipline

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and some experience in an organized recreation program
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
