Merchandise Planner

The Merchandise Planner will play a crucial role in planning, forecasting, and managing sales, margin, inventory, receipts, and turn for retail and direct business. This position requires a strong analytical mind and excellent communication skills to maximize sales, gross profit, inventory turns, and minimize markdowns.
Key Responsibilities- Build annual financial sales, gross margin, and inventory plans at a monthly level, by season, which ties to the company's budgeted sales, gross margin, and turn goals.
- Quarterly reforecast with the Finance Team to ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Maintain open-to-buy reports forecasting sales, gross margin, and inventory turn by week/month at a Merchant/Sub-Department level.
- Develop and maintain reporting and metrics to drive merchandising strategy and promotional analysis.
- Lead weekly/monthly business performance meetings to discuss key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
- Identify in-season risks and opportunities and provide data-driven recommendations to senior management.
- Build and maintain relationships with cross-functional business partners to achieve financial results for the area of responsibility and total company.
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
- 2 years of experience in a retail environment with a focus on sales, inventory management, and merchandising.
- Proficient in PC skills, including MS Office Suite and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to present business strategies and action plans to cross-functional groups.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
