Key Responsibilities:
- Research Activities (85%): Conduct data gathering, analysis, and method innovation, and contribute to the dissemination of findings through scholarly publications and conference presentations.
- Professional Development (10%): Participate in skill enhancement initiatives, leadership training, and networking opportunities with industry and community partners.
- Supervision and Management (5%): Oversee junior researchers and volunteers to ensure project milestones are met efficiently.
Essential Qualifications:
- PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Neuroscience, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Strong quantitative skills and expertise in signal processing relevant to neural data analysis.
- Proven track record of research dissemination through publications and conference presentations.
- Proficient programming skills in MATLAB and Simulink.
- Familiarity with control systems and control theory.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with closed-loop stimulation techniques in neuromodulation.
- Proficiency in additional programming languages such as Python, C#, C++, LabView, R, or Adobe Premiere.
- Experience conducting neurophysiological and behavioral studies involving human subjects, particularly in relation to DBS and movement disorders.
- Expertise in analyzing single-unit and local field potential neural signals, as well as handling extensive neural datasets.
