In this role, you will work under limited supervision to ensure the safety and security of court facilities and services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct screenings of individuals and belongings to ensure adherence to security protocols.
  • Operate security equipment, including x-ray machines and metal detectors.
  • Patrol court premises to maintain a secure environment.
  • Provide armed security presence at court entrances, overseeing entry procedures.
  • Monitor security systems, including video surveillance and alarms.
  • Assist visitors and respond to inquiries, directing them as necessary.
  • Screen mail and packages for suspicious items.
  • Ensure the safety of judicial personnel and the public during court proceedings.
  • Prepare incident reports and maintain daily logs.
  • Enforce security regulations and manage unauthorized access to restricted areas.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three years of relevant experience in law enforcement, military police, or security roles.
  • Successful completion of required training academies within specified timeframes.
  • Ability to pass psychological evaluations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Understanding of security practices related to government facilities.
  • Ability to interact with individuals in high-stress situations while maintaining professionalism.
  • Proficiency in using security technology and equipment.
  • Effective communication skills to engage with a diverse public.
