Anesthesia Technician

• Provide technical support to anesthesia services, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective care.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems.
• Work closely with the Department of Anesthesia and the staff of the Department of Surgical Services.
• Recognize and maintain strict observance of safety practices and infection control in the operating room.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all anesthesia machines and maintain accurate records.
• Examine and set up new machines, and contract company repairmen when necessary.
• Check and record repairs needed throughout the department weekly.
• Make timely and ongoing decisions with information received from anesthesiologists and RNs.
• Demonstrate ability to maintain anesthesia supplies and equipment.
• Clean, inspect, and restock pediatric anesthesia carts.
• Stock and organize anesthesia drug cells.
• Obtain additional anesthesia supplies from the Sterile Processing Department as requested.
• Order adequate supplies.
• Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate up-to-date job knowledge.
• Use medical center resources efficiently, promoting fiscal responsibility.
• Complete work assignments in a timely manner.
