Role Purpose: The primary responsibility of the Physical Therapist is to implement a medically prescribed rehabilitation program, focusing on evaluating, treating, and educating an adult and geriatric patient population. This role is essential for individuals recovering from traumatic injuries, managing cardiac conditions, undergoing joint replacements, and addressing post-surgical deconditioning, pain, and chronic disease management. The goal is to empower patients to achieve their highest potential and reintegrate into their communities while adapting to their individual capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver direct patient care services to enhance the effectiveness of rehabilitation programs.
2. Exhibit proficiency in physical therapy techniques and equipment to ensure patient safety and maximize therapeutic benefits.
3. Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with departmental standards.
4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care and efficient program delivery.
5. Engage in additional duties as necessary to enhance departmental effectiveness as both a treatment facility and a learning environment.
6. Foster a safe and productive working atmosphere by adhering to established hospital and departmental policies.
7. Uphold patient relations by demonstrating respect and dignity towards all patients, their families, visitors, and healthcare staff.
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program with a B.S., M.S., or DPT degree is required.
Licensure Requirements:
Possession of an active New York State License or eligibility for a temporary permit.

Location: Vassar Brothers Medical Center
Work Type: Per Diem
Standard Hours: 4.00
Work Schedule: Day shift from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, including weekends and PTO coverage.
Physical Demands:
Essential physical requirements include significant manual dexterity, the ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force, and occasional exposure to various environmental factors.
