Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Pharmacist to join our team at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) facility in Chelmsford, MA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing prescriptions and packages in an accurate, timely, and cost-effective manner, without disruption in services or production.

Responsibilities
  • Provides pharmaceutical verification of prescription orders of legend, OTC, Medical Surgical (Med/Surg), and Controlled Substances to patients requiring care.
  • Assesses drug orders and cross matches with medication presented at checking stations.
  • Pre-verifies medications loaded into highly specialized mechanical apparatus to dispense medications into prescription bottles.
  • Completes verification and fill of controlled substance orders, including Schedules III, IV, and V.
  • Performs Quality Assurance functions and supervision of Pharmacy Technicians.
  • Follows CMOP policies regarding documentation and reports to meet VA and TJC policy.
Requirements
  • Licensed in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia.
  • Must be a graduate of an American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) accredited school or university.
  • Must be licensed for controlled substances, with qualifications to practice in any states.
  • Must demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills with co-workers and staff.
  • Maintains basic typing skills, PC computer skills, and working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Must read, understand, speak, and write English fluently under the authority of U.S.C. 7402(d) and 7407(d).
