Job Title: EVS Technician

ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital is seeking a skilled EVS Technician to join our team. As an EVS Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment for our patients and staff.

Job Summary:

The EVS Technician is responsible for executing daily duties required to establish and maintain a clean and safe environment. This includes cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, common areas, and other assigned areas. The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities:
  • Clean and disinfect patient rooms, common areas, and other assigned areas
  • Perform duties while demonstrating working knowledge of health care cleaning and disinfecting principles and requirements
  • Adhere to all organization safety, risk management, and infection control guidelines and standards
  • Actively participate in departmental performance improvement initiatives
  • Maintain cleaning cart(s), supplies, and equipment
  • Remove trash and other waste and transport to the appropriate disposal area
  • Follow all infection prevention practices
  • Recognize and adhere to patient privacy requirements
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma desired/preferred
  • Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) and/or Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) desired/preferred
  • Ability to read/write English at 6th-9th grade level preferred
  • Respectfully listens to viewpoints and ideas of others
  • Ability to communicate orally or in writing openly and candidly
Working Conditions:

The EVS Technician will work in a fast-paced hospital environment and will be required to move about the hospital and between workstations. The successful candidate will be able to tolerate unpleasant odors and possible exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.
