This role will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. You will be part of a small, hardworking, and accomplished team, working closely with Orbital Reef subsystem teams as part of the Mission Systems and Flight Operations team, leading and performing flight and operations development tasks throughout the full system lifecycle.

You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of the mission operations concept, mission analysis and planning, flight planning, ground data systems, and tools used to operate advanced spaceflight vehicles. You will be responsible for design, testing and implementation of the Orbital Reef Ground Communications System within the Blue Origin Mission Control Centers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify, derive, develop, maintain, and verify Mission Systems and Flight Operations requirements.
  • Define the operations concept, ground system and data communications architectures, and designs that enable highly effective and labor-efficient real-time spacecraft and ground system operation, systems performance assessment and inter-team communication and coordination.
  • Plan, perform and document requirement verification and validation in one or more Mission Systems and Flight Operations subdisciplines.
  • Support initiatives to improve Mission Systems and Flight Operations engineering and other functional processes and tools.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, physics or related technical field.
  • 8+ years experience in a complex system lifecycle - requirement definition, design solution definition, trade studies, implementation, integration, verification, validation, qualification, commissioning and/or operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

Compensation Range: $146,644.50-$205,302.30
