Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fitness Instructor to join our team at Regency Senior Communities. As a Fitness Instructor, you will be responsible for leading exercise classes and promoting health and wellness among our senior residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Class Leadership: Develop and lead engaging exercise classes tailored to the needs and abilities of our senior residents, focusing on balance, strength training, stretching, and cardio drumming.
  • Class Management: Set up, manage, and maintain exercise equipment, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for participants.
  • Health and Wellness Promotion: Provide accurate and reliable information to residents and staff on fitness and wellness topics, and develop and promote health-related programs through various channels.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain and update monthly class schedules and descriptions, track and report class attendance, and communicate with senior leadership for monthly reviews.
  • Special Events: Assist in planning and executing special Life Enrichment and Marketing events.
Requirements
  • Education: Preferred educational background in Kinesiology, Human Services, Sports Psychology, Sports Management, Nutrition, Physical Therapy, Exercise Physiology, or Athletic Training.
  • Certification: Certification as a group exercise instructor or personal trainer, or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organizational, and resourcefulness skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with all departments within the organization.
  • Experience: Experience working with the geriatric population is preferred, with proficiency in reading and understanding written or verbal instructions in English.
  • Physical Demands: Strong motor coordination and physical stamina to lead and participate in classes, with the ability to lift 50 lbs or more.
