Job Summary

At Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital, we are seeking a highly skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our imaging department.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices.

• Provide patient services utilizing ultrasound equipment, demonstrating knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology.

• Deliver patient care to all age groups, including neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics, while communicating effectively with staff and radiologists.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Graduate of an AMA-approved Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or equivalent experience according to Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC).

• Minimum Experience: None required, but one year of experience is preferred.

• Minimum Licensure/Certification: None required, but registration by the ARDMS within six months of employment is expected. Vascular Sonographers must become registered and/or RVT, RVS, RT(S), RT(VS) within six months of employment. Licensure requirement for Breast Ultrasound can be met with registration through ARRT (BS).

• Additional Qualifications: BLS certification is required, and registered ARDMS and/or RVS/RVT (Registered Vascular Specialist) is desired.
