The Insight Global team is seeking an experienced Distribution Infrastructure Designer to join our Tucson, AZ office. As a pivotal member of our Distribution Modernization team, you will play a key role in modernizing electric utility distribution systems.
About the Role:
This position involves designing innovative solutions for distribution infrastructure projects using 2D and 3D design tools. You will collaborate with a team of experts and clients in a dynamic environment to deliver high-quality designs that meet local, national, and international electric utility standards.
Main Responsibilities:
• Design detailed 2D and 3D designs for distribution systems using CAD or similar software.
• Create engineering drawings, layouts, and specifications for overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Project Collaboration:
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support distribution modernization efforts and coordinate with clients to gather requirements, present solutions, and address project-specific needs.
Fieldwork:
Occasional site visits (approximately 10% travel) are required to assess distribution infrastructure and oversee design implementation.
Documentation & Reporting:
You will prepare technical reports, progress updates, and documentation for clients and internal stakeholders, as well as maintain accurate records of design changes and project milestones.
Salary and Benefits:
The estimated salary for this position is $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, you can expect a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
