Job Summary

McLean Hospital is a leading psychiatric hospital providing comprehensive mental health services in the Boston area and beyond. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the hospital's mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide immediate and long-term nursing care needs of patients within the standards of the department, hospital, and regulatory agencies.
  • Accurately assess patients' needs, identify patient behaviors that contribute to crisis situations, and utilize non-verbal and verbal techniques to de-escalate crisis situations.
  • Plan and implement nursing interventions for assigned patients, establishing a therapeutic alliance and demonstrating safe, accurate, and timely medication administration.
  • Participate in leading patient groups and provide leadership in organizing and providing patient care, including supervision of Mental Health Workers.
  • Teach patients and significant others, promoting their understanding of mental health and wellness.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • BSN preferred.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to utilize the nursing process and work collaboratively.
  • No experience required; one year medical/psychiatric experience preferred.
