Role Overview: The Team Member Relations Advisor provides both strategic and operational guidance on human resources matters, conducts thorough investigations into complaints, assists with grievance processes, and manages performance-related counseling and corrective actions. Key Responsibilities:

Team Member Relations:

  • Offer front-line support for human resources inquiries, guiding team members to appropriate resources and clarifying their needs.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to coach and influence business leaders on best practices regarding sensitive issues, ensuring fairness and consistency.
  • Utilize independent judgment to assist both hourly and management staff in resolving grievances swiftly and equitably.
  • Provide consultation to site management on team member relations, HR policies, and employment law, while maintaining up-to-date knowledge.
  • Conduct impartial investigations into complaints, including allegations of harassment, discrimination, and misconduct.
  • Manage the intake of investigative reports, assessing potential risks and creating cases for further examination.
  • Develop comprehensive investigative reports and presentations that are easily understood by stakeholders and leadership.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to handle claims from external agencies, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Promote positive team member relations initiatives that reflect our commitment to listening and fostering a supportive work environment.

Labor Relations Support:

  • Oversee the monthly union billing process and maintain member rosters in accordance with collective bargaining agreements.
  • Administer union audits as directed by Team Member Relations leadership.
  • Support positive relations programming for team members.
  • Act as a key partner with field operations to implement collective bargaining agreements for assigned units.
  • Assist leadership with grievance guidance and the administration of the collective bargaining grievance process, engaging with union representatives as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management or a related field, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in HR or a relevant role, with a solid understanding of HR policies and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of local and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience managing people relations and navigating multiple stakeholder inputs to reach resolutions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present organized analyses and findings.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload and prioritize effectively.
  • Understanding of investigative principles and the ability to draw conclusions from complex cases.
  • Demonstrated capability to engage in constructive discussions to enhance overall outcomes.
  • Experience adapting to shifting priorities and managing multiple risk-related situations simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate information and support the investigative process.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to summarize data and findings clearly for stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel as required across the geographic footprint of the organization.
