Job Overview:
The Janitor-Field plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and safety within an industrial laundry environment. This position involves working collaboratively within a team to ensure the efficient and accurate handling of items entering and exiting the facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regularly empty trash receptacles in assigned locations.
- Clean tunnel screens and manage the breakdown of boxes.
- Perform sweeping and mopping duties in restrooms and other designated areas.
- Wipe down surfaces including fans, walls, lights, and equipment, and replace floor mats as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness in break areas and lunchrooms, and transport empty barrels as required.
- Uphold a safe and tidy work environment while adhering to best practices in all operational activities.
- Adapt work schedule to meet the demands of the Market Center.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to comprehend and follow all necessary training, as well as written and verbal instructions.
- Basic mathematical skills are essential.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Consistent attendance and punctuality are crucial.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends and potential overtime as needed.
Work Environment and Safety Considerations:
This role is performed in a warehouse setting, with regular exposure to varying weather conditions, including extreme temperatures, dust, and noise. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. The position requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 25 lbs, as well as bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
Education and Experience:
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
