We are seeking motivated Electrical Engineers eager to join a collaborative team dedicated to enhancing national security through comprehensive testing of air and space systems. While office duties are part of the role, the majority of the engineer's responsibilities will take place in field settings or production areas, collaborating closely with our skilled workforce. This position involves applying engineering principles to implement electrical machinery necessary for establishing precise testing conditions within our facilities. Responsibilities include electrical equipment sizing, troubleshooting, circuit protection, and arc flash analysis for low and medium voltage systems. Engineering tools such as system requirements, specifications, risk assessments, and other documentation will be utilized to support testing efforts. Some shift work may be required to accommodate testing demands.
As part of a diverse team, system engineers will collaborate with various groups, including controls, instrumentation, design, facility data analysis, and modeling and simulation engineers, to ensure reliable operations and address future testing requirements.
Engineers will oversee the installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of significant equipment and systems, including large motors, compressors, electrical switchgear, over-current protection devices, transformers, PLCs, relays, and solid-state variable frequency drive systems, essential for providing reliable test conditions.
Essential Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in electrical engineering or mechatronics engineering from an accredited institution.
Note: This position is specifically for electrical engineers with less than 5 years of relevant experience.
- Must be a current U.S. citizen.
- Must possess an active Department of Defense Secret Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in areas such as systems startup, field engineering, or maintenance in large industrial facilities, utilities, or engineering/construction firms.
- Experience through internships or co-op programs in electrical engineering.
- Educational focus or work experience in low, medium, or high voltage power distribution.
- Experience with electrical systems or components within mechanical systems.
- Technical knowledge of engineering systems, calculations, and the application of engineering methods and materials, including the use of computer-aided engineering (CAE) and design (CAD) tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards and design criteria relevant to electrical engineering.
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
